Attention students in grades 9-12: If you left behind any items at the homecoming dance, they are in the main office - Please stop by to pick them up ASAP!

AP Students: Don’t forget to sign up for the AP exam in May. Online registration will be closing in less than a month. Register online through Lake High School’s Counseling Department page. If you have any questions, please see Mrs. Case in Room 201 or Ms. Stuffel in the Counseling Office.

Attention students in grades 7 through 11....Lifetouch will be here TOMORROW for picture retake day. If you want to get retakes, you must bring your picture packet with you on that day. This is also picture day for any students in grades 7 through 11 who did not get their picture taken in August. If you have any questions, please go to the Main Office.

NHS is selling T-shirts for our “Pink Out” Football game on October 21st. These bright pink tee shirts are $12 each. Be sure to order yours by Tuesday October 11th. Order all this week before school in the Student Center and during lunch outside the lunch room. See Mrs. Wolf with any questions.

Attention 7th and 8th grade Student Council members: We will have a meeting on Tuesday, October 4th in room 126 immediately following school. The meeting will last approximately thirty minutes. 

Attention 7th graders going on the class trip to Washington, DC. The orange trip form and any medications are due Tuesday, October 11th. If you have any questions or need another form, please see Mrs. Galada in the Clinic.

There will be a Jr. Service meeting Wednesday after school in the cafeteria, until 3:15.

Congratulations to the high school girls cross country team - they are your 2022 Stark County Division 1 Champions. Led by race champion Dani Scheffler and Lily Cross, Adison Wierzbicki, Charli Evanish, and Riley Holland, the girls crushed all area competition including Hoover, GlenOak, Perry, and arch rivals Jackson. Way to go, ladies!

Lake Varsity Volleyball hosted Cuyahoga Falls on Saturday and dominated, winning in three sets giving up less than 10 points each set. Match Leaders were: kills- Emma Isroff -9, assists- Olivia brown -10, Digs- Abby DeGeorge - 11, Blocks- Emma Isroff -2, ACES- Emma Isroff- 9

The girls soccer team celebrated Senior Day Saturday with a big 9-0 win against Warren Harding. Brooke Brinton, Steph Tovar and Morgan Kandel each had 2 goals. Taelor Miller, Maddie Kirk and Emma Kracker each added one. Tovar, Kandel and Kirk also recorded assists. HUGE shoutout to goalie Piper Crozier for an assist from her goalie net! She sent it and Morgan Kandel finished in the goal! The girls are looking to improve on their 8 – 4 record tonight at home vs Hudson. Please come out and cheer them on!

The boys middle school cross country team came in 3rd place out of Division 1 teams at the Stark County meet this past weekend. Ethan Moore led the team, followed closely by Andrew Vensel.  Also placing for Lake were Brady Norcia, Dillon Cross, Nolan Brasko, Nate Scheck, and Brycen Vensel. The girls middle school team also came in 3rd place for Division 1.  They were led by Ava Volpe.  Also scoring for the Blue Streaks were Tessa Courtney, Ava Potashnik, Ashlee Kuruc, Kate Ford, Allorah Ake, and Payton Holland. Both teams have this upcoming weekend off, they will resume racing on October 15th at the Federal League Championships at Jackson.

Do you have an interest in Journalism?  Do you want your voice to be heard in regards to school matters? Do you want to learn the mechanics of how to write newsworthy articles? If so, the high school Digital News club may be for you! Come be a part of the new high school online newspaper, The Blue Streak Bulletin! There will be an informational meeting next Wednesday, October 12th, at 2:25 PM in room 208. Come see Mrs. Salyer if you are interested and unable to attend the meeting.

American Sign Language Club will meet this week on Wednesday after school. Please note the change in location to rooms 211 and 212 upstairs. As always, check the club agenda for other important changes. Also, this week we will have a special celebration. Join us to see what it is!

Attn Seniors! Senior shirt orders are due by Friday Oct. 14th! Please bring your completed form and payment to the main office. These shirts will be worn for a whole class senior picture in November! Contact Mrs. Tompot or Mrs. DeHaven with any questions.

Juniors interested in taking the PSAT / NMSQT, in order to prepare for the SAT, or to be considered for the National Merit Scholarship Competition will need to sign up on LocalLevelEvents.com The test will be given Tuesday October 25th, during the school day. The Ultimate Frisbee Club will be playing on Wednesday this week.  I think you should join us.  Plan to meet on the band practice field from 2:45 until 4.  Everyone is welcome.  See Mr. Laubacher in room 147 if you have any questions.

The girls soccer team fought hard last night in a high scoring shootout before falling to visiting Hudson 4 to 6. Goals for the Lady Blue Streaks… Tailor Miller and Maddie Kirk each had one. Steph Tovar found the net for two goals. Piper Crozier had a busy night in goal with 18 saves! The girls will play their final home game tomorrow against Perry. It is also Teacher Appreciation Night. The team will recognize their honored educators at half time. Please come out to support the team!

Attention Seniors! Are you looking to become involved in your community? Are you looking for a resume builder or something to add to your college application? The Stark County Board of Elections is looking for student poll workers for the Midterm Elections on November 8th. This is a paid position but the deadline is quickly approaching! Please contact Mr. Buckerfield for more information!

If you are 18 years of age, or will be 18 before November 8th, and would like to exercise your right to vote, please see Mr. Buckerfield for information on how to register to vote - the deadline is this Saturday, October 8th.  

Still regret not joining Model UN? Give it a shot and come to Model UN this Thursday after school in room 213 to research and debate local issues like the school mascot, the arts vs athletics budget, and the security of Lake High School! See Mr. McCoy with any questions!

2022 high school yearbooks are available to be purchased! Yearbooks can be purchased for $80 and are available until March 17th. Come to the main office to get your order form or email Miss Burt to get more information.

Attention STAND members...

We will again meet with Mr. Laubacher's Ultimate Frisbee group! Please meet at the SOC steps today after school, and we will go over to the Band Practice field by the tennis courts for today's meeting.  Students please let parents/guardians know that you will be picked up at the field by the tennis courts, next to the Administrative Offices / YMCA entrance. The auditions for the Middle School Drama production of High School Musical Jr. will be held next Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday evenings from 5:00-7:30. Please meet in the choir room on Tuesday evening promptly at 5:00. You will need to be there each night for the full auditions. If you have any questions please see Mrs. Carpenter in room 112. It would be a good idea to watch the movie before the auditions if you have not already viewed it. If you are interested in being part of the crew, you do not need to be at the auditions. There will be an announcement for the crew in late November.
